Latest MRI results. 2 thumbs up!

Alright, I met with my Oncologist on Thursday, and when he walked in and said "I have some good news for you," I had to reply with, "I like good news." lol My recent MRI came back as no change, that's good, I'll take it! I go back in 4 months for my next MRI.

Now, I ended up bringing up the issue of my bleeding first with my Oncology Nurse and then with the Oncologist. When speaking with the Oncologist, I mentioned to him my findings about the effects that progesterone had on astrocytoma brain tumours, because progesterone is supposed to help my other issue I'm dealing with. However, my findings were also that it may actually facilitate the growth of my tumour if I used it. He said it was uncommon for one to affect the other and I left my meeting with a feeling of "use at your own risk" regarding the use of progesterone to help with my other issue and the effects it could have on my tumour.

Well, Friday I came home to several phone calls and a voicemail from him telling me that he did research yesterday on the effects of the two and to NOT use it. He actually called me back and I spoke with him and he wanted to make sure I got his voicemail as he is very adamant that I do NOT partake of progesterone treatment. So adamant, in fact, that he called me 5 times Friday to make sure I got his message. I'm really lucky to have Doctors that don't mind me presenting things to them and then taking the time to look into it themselves if they aren't 100% sure. Extremely lucky.

MRI results on Thursday

Well, I had my MRI last Thursday and I also met with my Neurologist. Since my seizures have been controlled, my medication remains the same, that's good. I also have to speak to my family Dr about getting a DEXA test to check for any wear and tear on my bones due to the medication I've been on. My Dr gave me some blood work to get done, and I see him again in 3 months. This Thursday, June 18th I meet with my Oncologist for the results of my MRI. *fingers crossed!
